Resident Evil 4 (2023)

Resident Evil 4 (2023) is a survival horror developed and published by Capcom. It is a remake of the 2005 classic Resident Evil 4, retaining its third-person shooter mechanics while incorporating design elements inspired by the remakes of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020).

In the game, players take on the role of U.S. agent Leon S. Kennedy, who is tasked with rescuing Ashley Graham, the president's daughter, from a mysterious cult operating in a remote region of Spain. This version features a revised storyline, enhanced graphics, redesigned characters and cast performances, and updated gameplay systems, aligning it with more recent entries such as Biohazard (2017), Village (2021), and other modern Resident Evil remakes.

Like the original, inventory management revolves around organizing items within an attaché case. The remake introduces a new crafting feature, allowing players to combine gathered materials to produce items and ammunition. The Merchant also returns, offering opportunities to purchase, upgrade, and exchange gear, as well as take on optional side missions available throughout the main campaign. Combat continues to emphasize gunplay and resource management, but Leon now has greater mobility, enabling him to move while aiming, shooting, or reloading. He can also perform melee strikes to stagger or repel enemies. A newly added parry system lets players block attacks, counter enemies, and finish off incapacitated foes using a knife. Unlike in the original game, the knife now has limited durability and must be repaired or reinforced by the Merchant if it breaks. Additionally, Leon can equip different types of knives, each with distinct characteristics.
