BioShock Remastered

BioShock is a 2007 FPS, later re-released in 2016 as BioShock Remastered.

The game is set in Rapture, a massive underwater city created during the 1940s by businessman Andrew Ryan. Designed as a society free from government influence, Rapture was intended to become a utopia where the world's most talented and powerful individuals could thrive. The player takes control of Jack, a passenger whose plane crashes in the Atlantic Ocean in 1960. As the sole survivor, he discovers the entrance to Rapture and becomes trapped in its mysterious and dangerous world.

BioShock combines first-person shooter gameplay with role-playing elements, character customization, and stealth mechanics, drawing inspiration from games such as System Shock 2. Players must fight their way through Rapture using a mix of conventional firearms and genetically enhanced abilities known as plasmids. These plasmids provide special powers, allowing Jack to unleash abilities such as fire or electrical attacks.

Alongside traditional weapons, including the iconic wrench used for melee combat, players can improve their arsenal through upgrade stations found throughout the city. These modifications can increase weapon range, reduce recoil, or provide other advantages. Different ammunition types can also be equipped to improve effectiveness against specific enemies.

Released in 2016, BioShock Remastered brought updated visuals and improvements mainly aimed at modern console hardware. While the remastered version added features such as native Ultrawide support on PC, its reception among PC players was more mixed, with reports of additional bugs and the removal or alteration of some graphical effects that were present in the original release.
