Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition

Who hasn't heard of Dark Souls? The phenomenal game was initially released on PS3/Xbox 360 in 2011, then on PC in 2012 following a petition.

It's a third-person Action-RPG game set in a medieval and dark fantasy world. The game is renowned for its high, but "fair" difficulty.

Unfortunately, the game was released in a poor state on PC (From Software had warned about this during the petition; it would be their first PC port), with a hardcoded internal rendering resolution of 1024x768, a framerate locked at 30 fps, etc.

I highly recommend this game, the one that truly launched the "Souls saga," but if it's your first game of this type, you'll need to be patient and understand that death is part of the game.

A few tips (without spoilers) :

• Pyromancer/sorcerer classes are a bit easier, since you'll have ranged spells right from the start.
• When you die, your priority should be to retrieve your Bloodstain. Remember that if you die a second time without retrieving it, the souls (the game money) it contained will be permanently lost.
• The "Endurance" stat is the most important, as it determines your maximum load and your green bar (ability to run, roll, hit, block an attack)
• The "Resistance" stat is useless, so don't waste soul points increasing it.
• When you talk to an NPC, it's important to exhaust the dialogue options, so talk to them repeatedly until they loop.
