Dante's Inferno

Released in 2010, Dante's Inferno is an action-adventure game created by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts. Drawing inspiration from the first part of Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, the game reimagines the poet's descent into Hell as a dark, violent quest. Players take on the role of Dante, a Templar knight returning from the Crusades, who ventures through the nine Circles of Hell to save his beloved Beatrice from Lucifer. Guided by the spirit of the poet Virgil, he faces grotesque creatures, deadly traps and the tormented souls of the damned.

Combining hack-and-slash combat, platforming and environmental puzzles, the game offers fast-paced action across a series of increasingly disturbing infernal landscapes. Originally released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Dante's Inferno was also intended to launch a larger trilogy, although no sequels were produced.

In 2026, an unofficial PC port of the Xbox 360 version was released by florinp93. Built through static recompilation, the project allows the game to run natively on PC without requiring an emulator.
