Fix launch time very long

It’s finally here: the new version of Mulderland is live! After several weeks of work, I’m excited to share this update with you. Here’s a quick recap of what’s new:

• Modern and smooth design: The site has had a makeover with a more modern design, while still keeping its retro vibe.
• Improved game descriptions: I’ve completely revamped the descriptions for each game, added screenshots, and included detailed installation instructions where necessary.
• More transparency on pack contents: Each pack now comes with a more detailed description: community fixes, mods, texture upgrades, etc., with the authors credited where possible, to honor their work.
• English version: I’ve noticed many non-French speakers visiting the site, so I’ve added an English version to make it more accessible.
• Applications: I’ve improved the process of obtaining download links for Window and Office suites.

These changes are all aimed at making your experience on Mulderland even more enjoyable. If you like the site, feel free to share the url with your friends and on your social networks.

As always, I welcome your feedback, whether it’s to report bugs or suggest improvements. This site is primarily for you!

Hello! It's been a while since I last updated this editorial.

Over the past few weeks, I've been working on a new version of the site, featuring a more modern design, reclassified games and menu, improved app download pages, and an English version, since many of you visit the site without speaking French.

I expect the update to be live sometime this week.

In the meantime, I've updated the Fallout 4 Downgrader, as Bethesda has pushed yet another update :)

Fallout 4 Steam Downgrader updated to handle v1.11.169 (november 2025 update)

Hey there! After my post about The Crew, which you really enjoyed (feel free to share the site with your friends/networks, it helps me a lot), I’m adding 3 modernization patches for three major games: Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition (with a configurable launcher that took me quite a bit of time, but it should be useful for future games), Hitman 2 (the original) that runs really well in 21:9 on my system, and Doom 3, fully patched with upscaled textures and everything!

I’m also taking your feedback into account, so I’ll make an effort to better detail the patch content on the game pages moving forward. I relied a lot on the fact that the "recipes" are open source, but that’s not necessarily clear to everyone. I’ll clarify that in the next version of the site.

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well! Apologies for the lack of updates lately, I've been caught up with other projects, and at the same time, I'm working on some major improvements here (new launcher, new site version, new infrastructure, all that!).

But I absolutely wanted to drop a quick update today, with the release of "The Crew Unlimited", the version that lets you play offline this amazing game, which Ubisoft shamefully killed off last year. I’m really impressed by what this small group of fans has managed to achieve.

Update v1.2 + Vehicles Patch + Fix loading screen & slow textures

Hey everyone, hope you're doing well! It’s been almost a month since Mulderland reopened, so it’s high time I updated the editorial! Here are the latest news.

On the website side, I’ve improved the game pages (recap, descriptions), slightly optimized the SEO, and switched to Plausible (instead of Google Analytics, because I respect your privacy).

Behind the scenes, I wrote a Powershell script to automate comparing two directories (files, renaming, moving), which helps me generate NSIS patches much faster. I first used it with Alpha Protocol, comparing the Steam and GOG versions. I've made the Powershell script open source here.

The past few days, I’ve been working on the Fallout 4 downgrade patch (to revert the "next-gen" update). Despite my script, it still took a lot of time since I had to compare 60 Steam deposits. But unlike other revert solutions available, mine works with all languages and editions of the game :)

I also set up a second download server (MediaFire wasn’t cutting it for Fallout 4), so hopefully that’ll hold up!

I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, sometimes working on it, sometimes giving up. Warez is over. Thanks, Steam!

I’m offering something a little different: patch packs to modernize games and give them a new life. Think of these packs as "fan-remasters," compiling existing mods (widescreen support, ultrawide, HD textures, AI upscales, etc.), carefully selected by me and bundled into a single installer to enhance the gaming experience.

I’ll also be showcasing some interesting fan-games I’ve come across, often remakes or projects inspired by popular games.

Finally, for a few games I really love but which unfortunately aren’t available on digital platforms, I’ll offer modernized abandonwares, but without encroaching on DOS-era games, there are already enough websites dedicated to those.

Most of the time, I’ll offer these games through an NSIS installer (which I’ll call MulderLoad); the source code will be available as open-source on Github (and compiled by Github Actions, while we’re at it) for full transparency. And who knows, maybe this project will eventually become collaborative.

I’ll go into more detail later, but I absolutely wanted to launch the site before the end of Q1 2025. It’s March 31st, and it’s only 8 PM.
